Mark Westergaard

Mark Westergaard oversees our computational business analytics efforts and leads the development of our Earth Knowledge Foresight platform and Planetary Intelligence SaaS offerings to assist customers in optimizing their business plans and mitigating operational and investment risks.

His background in quantitative business methods provides critical insight for our financial and corporate customers. Mark’s integrity and his commitment to excellence, our team and culture are key strengths to Earth Knowledge every day.

Mark served as manager of Business Intelligence at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS). Here, he was responsible for enterprise BI strategy, planning and execution. His primary focus was building a Competency Center to support a self-service BI model, coordinating partnerships with CSC, Hitachi Consulting, SAP/Business Objects and IBM/Cognos. Mark was a frequent presenter at BI industry conferences and symposiums, including ComputerWorld, Gartner, Leading Edge Forum and NDIA. Mark joined Raytheon in 2003 after serving five years as Director of Technology at custom software company Ephibian.

Prior to joining Ephibian, Mark served eleven years as manager of Research Computing at the University of Arizona where he oversaw acquisition of HPC and scientific visualization facilities, and managed staffing for research computing and statistical consulting services. He held the role of campus liaison to the Cornell National Supercomputer Center and was appointed to IBM’s SUPER! steering committee. Mark began his career as Assistant Professor of Business Computing Systems at New Mexico State University where he developed and taught courses in system design and database methods.
